How We Help Children

 

Summer Camp 2011The Gift from the Heart Foundation takes under its care physically disabled children from abroad.

Over the past 20 years Gift from the Heart Foundation has helped several hundred children receive modern medical treatments from the highest quality clinics in the United States.

The Gift from the Heart Foundation provides a range of services for local children and teenagers . Every program focuses on supporting parents and creating new opportunities for children to become healthy.

As Foundation’s operations progressed and with new, beautiful facility in Schiller Park other opportunities opened. Among them, Foundation’s Educational Workshops for local children and teenagers with disabilities and the healthy ones and Summer camps for children.

For children from abroad, we help parents to prepare and review the application for medical treatment in the United States, ensure its completeness before submitting it to the hospital or clinic. 

Once a child is admitted for the treatment, we apply for a visa for the child and guardian as well as for discounted airline tickets.

We stay in contact with the hospital and serve as liaisons between the hospital and the child and guardian awarded the treatment.  

Alan lubi malowacUpon the arrival, we provide all available accommodations at the House Center including: lodging, food, transportation and translation services for the time of the treatment; whenever possible, rehabilitation equipment, orthopedic and medicine.

In situations when the time of treatment is prolonged, the Foundation also provides access to educational services for the child – free of charge. 

 Depending on the availability, the child and guardian are invited to various local events.
