FROM ST. LOUIS TO DAR SERCA

TV CRACOVIA – Polish TV program in St. Louis, MO on April 14, 2012 organized at * GRBIC *Banquet Center Spring Dinner- Dance to support GFHF children as well as other organizations. Dar Serca has very tight liaisons with Polish community in St. Louis especially in recent years, since most of the coming children had their treatments done in children hospitals there. Ewa Dyk and Jozef Skudrzyk (above) are among our closest friends in St. Louis and the children know them very well. They give their time to translate, drive and even housing them. There is also Katarzyna Florek and Marek Jankowski who are also involved in helping GFHF and we appreciate their support very much. The event brought a sum of $1500 for Dar Serca’s children and Mr. Jankowski made sure that the check was sent right away. From the bottom of our hearts we say thank you to all involved in organizing this event, to all sponsors and supporters. Charitable work that Dar Serca does for over 24 years depends on people of good heart. And the Polish community in St. Louis is just that. Thank you. 2012 Summer Day Camp for Kids

Looking for something fun, exciting, and active for your kids to do during summer break? Enroll them in our Summer Day Camp beginning June, 2012. Space is limited, so call (847) 671-2711 to enroll now!!!

We invite all children for a wonderful, summer vacation!

The topic of our camp is ” Travel around the world”. We are going to learn about the various places, their tradition, folk habits and food. In program we offer art, sport, computer, swimming activities and also trips to interesting places in Chicago area.

For the youngest from 3 to 6 years old we also offer summer program. The classses will be held from 9 to 11:30 Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

We are looking forward to see you!

The camp starts 6/11 until 08/31 from 9am to 3pm. Extra care from 8am to 9am and 3pm to 5pm. It is going to be extra charge for that 5$ per hour.

The kids of special needs are going to be charged only for extended care, trips, swimming and hot lunch on Friday aproximately 20-40 $ per week. They are responsible for their own lunch from Monday to Thursday.

If they have difficult financial situation we are capable to help them with the payment. The other kids are going to be charged extra 10$ daily Aproximately 70-90$ per week.

The parents are expected to help at the camp at least for 3 hours per week.

Sample Weekly Schedule

Monday

9 – 10 Group and individual activities(puzzles, legos, computer, wee)
10 – 11 Lecture( movie, photos, slides)
11 – 12:30 Art activities ( few levels)
12:30 – 1:30 Lunch
1:30 – 3 Sport activities or walk in the forest or park

Tuesday and Thursday

9 – 10 Group and individual activities
10 – 11 Art or activities with the music( zumba, aerobic)
11 – 11:30 Lunch
11:30 – 2:30 Swimming
2:30 – 3 Snack

Wednesday

trip ( Indian museum in Evanston, cowboy city in Union, botanic garden, Art Museum, golf, show, beach, etceteras)

Friday- theme day

9 – 11 Group and individual activities
10 – 12 Theme games and activities
12 – 1 Hot lunch
1 – 3 Watching movie, meeting with the invited special guest or group activities

On April 12th over 200 distinguished guests joined together to celebrate GFHF achievements at its Annual Spring Ball. This year’s gala took place at beautiful Medinah Banquets in Addison, IL for a very simple reason. The facility is owned by the Shriners. Most of the Foundation’s children are getting their treatments at Shriners Hospitals so, the choice was obvious and explains itself. Grazyna Maneykowski of Archer Gold Jewelry and Marek Rzepkowski – the WNVR Polish Radio Station host – took upon themselves the Master of Ceremonies duties. Among them was a presentation of the Golden Heart Award receipient – the GFHF Junior Board Also, last year’s receipient -Ewa Betka – member of the GFHF Board of Directors was presented with her Golden Heart Award for she was not able to attend last year’s Gala There was a Silent Auction with very interesting items such as autographed picture of Agnieszka Radwanska – renown tennis player, bottles of brandy home made by Organizing Committee members and, Andrzej Fonfara- renown boxing champion, personally delivered and signed sport memorabilia, which was a very nice gesture. Gorgeous, hand painted silk scarves by Yolanda Lorente were also Auction’s hit. Very moving moment of the evening happened after the “All about children” movie that shows Foundation’s children and their stories as well as their health improvement and GFHF every day life. One of the guest was so touched by presented stories that right then and there made a generous donation of $5000. Also, Mr. Rich Lazarski, Million Dollar Round Table member and GFHF friend presented Dorothy Malchowski – Foundation’s president with a donation for $2,500 that was granted by MDRT Foundation which he matched with his own check for the same amount. All the guests had a chance to help as well. The Raffle was also very popular and brought a total of $ 1,500 in tickets’ sale. We are very lucky to have such wonderful friends among them Mr. Consul General Zygmunt Matynia and Mrs. Matynia who also joined us at this very memorable evening. Live entertainment was presented by Pacific Band and Walter Bochenek. A picture is worth a thousand words so, let’s the pictures speak… By the presence at the Ball and by placing ads in the Program Booklet all participants are all guilty of Spring Ball’s yet another financial success. All proceeds in the total amount of $31,289 go to the children’s’ fund. From the bottom of our hearts we thank all our guests, sponsors and patrons for your generosity and your friendship.

Alan needs our help

Hello, my name is Alan and I was born with a very rare orthopedic disease called Metatropic Dysplasie. I’ll be two in May and I live in Poland. My mom was doing everything in her power to find me a doctor, who would be able to help me. And she succeeded! There is a children hospital in Wilmington, DE where doctor William Mackenzie knows how to fight this disease. My first visit with him is scheduled for April 23, 2012. They are going to run some tests and then they will decide if there is a hope for me to be cured. My mom and I would like to ask the Gift from the Heart Foundation to give us a helping hand while we are in the United States. Will you please help?
