Established in the year 1988, Gift from the Heart is a charitable, 501 (c), organization that assists children with disabilities to receive medical treatments that they urgently need. The Foundation brings seriously ill and disabled children from European countries to the US and helps them to receive high quality medical care and treatments that are unattainable in their home countries. Over the past 20 years Gift from the Heart Foundation has helped several hundred children receive modern medical treatments from the highest quality clinics in the United States. As Foundation’s operations progressed and with new, beautiful facility in Schiller Park other opportunities opened. Among them, Foundation’s Educational Workshops for local children and teenagers with disabilities and the healthy ones.

The Foundation is operated by the Administration and is supported by the Board of Directors.
Thanks to Annual Radiothons at radio station WNVR 1030AM in Chicago and WRKL 910AM in New York, Polvision’s Telethons as well as generosity and dedication of whole Polish-American Community in 2009 Foundation’s children could move into this beautiful Center.

The Gift From the Heart Foundation is committed to providing a rainbow of community services to promote the importance of health, wellness, and medical care for children with and without special needs.
Services
For children from abroad: as the only Foundation of this kind in the United States, the Gift From the Heart Foundation provides help to seriously ill and handicapped children from Central and Eastern countries where medical treatment they require may not be available.
For the local children: Our programs are based on the philosophy that it really does “Take a village to raise a child.” Through a variety of programs that promote education
and awareness, healthy child development, family advocacy and support, and by helping families access medical care for their children is how the Foundation
will help the parents of the Northwest side of Chicago raise their children.

- Parent and Tot Playgroups
- Parent and Tot exercise groups
- Parent education classes to promote healthy child development
- Support services to assist in helping to raise healthy children

- Respite care in or out of the home
- Individual and family counseling
Medical Services
- Act as a liaison between the family and medical or other service providers
- Provide financial assistance to purchase rehabilitation or other medical equipment
- Assist families in finding adequate housing that meet the child’s medical needs
- Provide financial support for travel, lodging, and other expenses related to medical appointments
